Hey my lovelies,
it has been a long time since I last did a DIY post but I have one for you today. A Halloween special, a DIY Goth Rag doll costume just in time for All Hallows Evening. Dressing up on Halloween had become a new favourite hobby for me, Fifi and I like to get dressed up, I like to get creative but for as little money as possible and with minimal time and effort required.
After browsing the wonderful World Wide Web I decided to recreate an image that I saw on the ‘A beautiful Mess’ blog @ www.abeautifulmess.com/2011/10/rag-doll-halloween-costume-diy.html. The costume here was cute and kitsch but I wanted something a bit more Goth so I mixed it up a bit.
Now despite what you may think this costume was cheap, easy to make and looked pretty damn good, even if I do say so myself.
I’m not going to bore you with step by step instructions, this Youtube video will show you all you need to know with regards to making the wig and doing the make up.
The rest of the costume was also pretty easy, I made a black tulle, no sew, tutu skirt. The Youtube vid below demonstrates how to this by making a mini mock skirt, I used a lot more material based on mine and Fifi’s measurements, importantly this video shows how to easily cut this material which can be a pain in the arse to work with.
The costumes were finished off with striped tights bought on ebay for a couple of pounds and a plain black/white t-shirt……..And Ta-da!
The end result, a cheap, funky, easy to make Halloween costume. I hope you all have as much fun making this as I did! I’d like to hear about your Halloween costume ideas.
Until next time, mwah.
